Mithra — GGR3-12 Journal

Mithra's final journal. 'I have no words to express the feeling of facing an enemy that isn't yours.' Titus has become like a brother. 'This could be my final entry. Perhaps it will give whoever finds this comfort in the pain persevering.'

Character: Mithra

Episode: GGR3-12: Veritas Invicta, Part 4

I have no words to express the feeling of facing an enemy that isn't yours. Not directly, anyway. I find the concept unthinkable, and yet here we are, at our ally's door, threatening destruction. I'd like to turn my back to the greater threat and push it further along, but this turned out to be a more insurmountable threat, if left unchecked. Perhaps it could be the end of my people and all others who don't comply. The threat is as real as the summers are brutal. Titus Metellus Glabrio Vorn, leader of this small town with a great tenacity, has handled this well. The jealousy I feel makes me ache for a more practiced mind like his. But learning from him that it was the result of battles at a young age makes me believe that my abilities are not so far out of reach. We both persevered this long — this long — when the fight seemed lost before it even started. I've lost so — we've lost so many close to us and unknowingly taken a blind eye to those who could have been saved. He has now become like a brother to me. Ira reminds me so much of how Yusuf was before his certain end. So confident and sure of his abilities. My aching grows as I yearn for such courage. I take this entry as a sign to live and fight for those here, for those a distance away, and the people of the future. Who will live to see Juramentum continue to stand as a beacon for those who crave freedom. This could be my final entry. Perhaps it will give whoever finds this comfort in the pain persevering.
