Character: Marcus
Episode: GGR3-13: Waking
Sweet Taweia. The wall was bad, but nothing could have prepared me for what was happening. In one of the brief moments when I wasn't pouring everything I had into this divine moment, I saw me boy Livius standing like a stalwart champion of legend. I ain't never been more proud. He answered the call and fought his part, barely lifting a sword, honoring both the way Alba and I raised him and understanding the need to stand his ground. His courage to run for help that fateful day and his unwavering resolve in the face of overwhelming odds honor us, my lady. And then there's Titus. When I first met him, I knew there was something that spoke directly to me, though at the time, and in my naivete, I assumed it was simply Quaylithon. But now, in the fullness of time, I have seen this incredible, inexperienced man — that's what he was when I met him, young and inexperienced — rise to the challenge and become a warrior and a fully realized lord. You too have become a legend, but to me, and always first, you is my kin and me partner. As emissary to the Bellator Sanctus, as lord to a vassal, as a friend. The way er called on me and rose me above a simple farmer's life, but me kin will always be what drives me to make this world of muscle and blood better.
Isn't it odd? In the heat of combat, gazes can meet from across the theater and connect. He must have felt me thinking about him. And he is helping Grip.
Blessed Lady, all this time I thought we were simply helping you take your place in this world, but it was so much more than that. You chose me, a pig farmer, to help birth your son. Your son. You chose Titus, a young lord, to protect him and give him the time he needed in his womb. And we — well, we delivered. His arrival changes everything, giving hope and voice to countless souls crying out. The clarion call of justice that demands, it demands that I add my own voice. I lift my voice to greet your rising sun. His splendorous touch burns away the dark. In a soft golden hue, your world is made anew. We follow the path you've laid.
