Marcus — EP19 Journal
Pity for Griff. Nilishli breaks through. Need allies. Blessed by real leadership.
Character: Marcus
Episode: EP19: Twined
As he was leaving, I found myself pitying Griff. There's no doubt in my mind that he loved his brother dearly. But what he do, seeks to do, ain't justice. Not to him, not to the substitute he sacrifices, and most certainly not to his brother. He calls it justice, but deep down, he knows it ain't true to form, the Lishli attacked the problem directly and without fear. I hadn't understood the depths of her feelings for the man until now, but it evokes emotions I felt towards Albert when we first started falling in love. Though unwilling, she is able to break through to the man inside and bring him back out into the light. The irony would not be lost to me, considering her connection to the dread Mother. Griff, aside for the moment, we desperately need allies for what is coming. I think I'll hang back as everyone leaves and have a candid chat with the Domine. Even though we are venturing out to investigate the final resting place of Jason Tenderheart, the world will not remain idle during this time, so we must be proactive. I understand now when my father always laughed at Sextus Major. Despite the airs he put on, Sextus is as much of attrition as I am a breeding hog. I feel blessed to Titus and Livia for showing me how real leaders lead.
