Marcus — EP34 Journal
Responsibility heavier than a mountain — Rijad threat, companions, truth-telling duty.
Character: Marcus
Episode: EP34: The Price
My father was fond of a saying that death was lighter than the last breath of air, but responsibility was heavier than a mountain. I thought I knew what responsibility meant between leading my family and then more broadly, a small but growing community of lighters within Juramentum. But again, as I have noted to myself a couple of times over the past few days, I ain't no crap. Now I have the responsibility to that very same family and that small but growing community to speak the truth, regardless of how hard it is to hear. I have a responsibility to my companions to be the best version of myself that I can be. We have a responsibility to ridding the world of the creature, the Rijod. And that's going to suck a load of rotten harpita eggs. But we're the only ones that can do it. And that's all before lunch. For now, though. Navigating the tomb, raiding the island of Borolas and his band of merry men, repairing the ship, putting to rest Coyolle's people. And the Vorn dead will just have to suffice and we can worry about the rest later. Responsibility is heavier than a mountain.
