To the Bone, Part 2. The combined Chosen force faces the Oppressor Soul drawn from Frankus the pug. Multi-faced, dripping etheric slime, its charm aura nearly overwhelms Titus before Concord interposes herself. Weisa delivers the coup de grace, whispering togo — the Uralit word for pathetic. Then the revelation: Weisa has tapped into Okatla the Magnificent, her ancestress. Devran delivers his first full journal — 4,000 characters of devastation: 'Let it be known that having a hole in one's chest, be it metaphorical, metaphysical, or in my case, literal, does wonders for one's perspective. I hail from Xahar: city of silk, song, shadow, and sin.' He names Titus 'the city's ruler, warden, and joy-thief.' He closes: 'Because stories — real ones — are not born in the soft places. They rise from ruin. They burn in pain. And they are told by fools like me.' Weisa transfers her life force for Tlaloc's final divine construct — the campaign's central theme of sacrifice, choosing to die so that something greater can be born.
