To the Bone. Angel opens with the formal recap: 'The Fellowship at last departs from their home aboard the trireme Frankus. The extended party passes by Marcus's old home of Pulex, which now appears utterly abandoned. The true cleric naturally desires to make landfall, yet Titus ultimately persuades him that there is nothing to be done for those who are long gone.' Rex proves a complicated character — his tale comes out at the business end of Concord. He claims to have been raised in Ten Troll Den, which until recently sheltered chosen children who otherwise would have been killed. Concord urges Titus to make landfall, where his long-deceased grand dame, great Lady Vipsania Drusa Marula Zosh, appears riding a powerful white equine. For the first time in 217 winters, a unicorn has joined the defense of the Dream. Mithra's journal opens this episode as a prayer to Loyatar: 'My maiden, we have grown closer. I know not the entirety of your ways and unfathomable knowledge.' Marcus seeks out Mithra for a genuine interfaith dialogue — their exchange reveals the bedrock Death Tamer philosophy: pain is the universal equalizer. Devran approaches Rex, and their conversation becomes lore-dense — Figulus Gnaeus changed magic with Zed, the Greywalker was murdered. Rex reveals the demon pug. Titus enters Concord's psyscape. At episode's end, Titus declares: 'If we can't take one of them, how are we going to take a hundred?' Ten Chosen against one Oppressor Soul.
