After stabilizing Devran, Weisa brings her twin brother to the healing hall while Grip continues on to the camp. Intent on finding their leader. Mithra then seeks out the Beloved, speaking with them at some length about her extraordinary experience within the keep. This includes the possibility that Loyatar, their goddess, is in the process of selecting a new priestess amongst the citizens of this odd city. While Mithra then looks for healing, Grip seizes his opportunity to see beloved Trisli Weisa keeps vigil over her brother in the healing hall. Devran and his sister begin to come to a kind of understanding while Marcus invokes the gold to repair some of the boys heinous wounds, Marcus son Livius takes Devran back to their family while Marcus and Nuesa settle in for a discussion.
