The Return

The true cleric explains as best as he's able that the divine power of the gold has always come from the Goddess of Truth and not the Lord of Light.

Not in the Cards Titus holds a suffering Livia, recalling that sometime in their ninth winter a wall began to be built between them. Lady Lucretia Vale comes to check on Livia's condition. Thus she and Titus have a final conversation before the lady leaves to at last return to her place in Leptis region. Young Titus declares his love for her and she very nearly reciprocates. The two reluctantly part ways for now, Weisa and Grip take a trip to the Death Tamer camp. Just outside the gates they encounter a horrifically injured Devran. He's run afoul of an unknown, reeking and deranged killer that's been lurking in Juramentum's shadows. The obsessed chosen Magara flees the scene. After stabilizing Devran, Weisa brings her twin brother to the healing hall while Grip continues on to the camp. Intent on finding their leader. Marcus sister Servilia confronts him about abandoning his faith. The true cleric explains as best as he's able that the divine power of the gold has always come from the Goddess of Truth and not the Lord of Light. The strong willed Servilia only partially accepts this, insisting that their larger family will continue to follow their lifelong religion. Mithra encounters Livia's handmaiden Atsadi, whom she recognizes as one of the girls in the pantry three winters ago. Atsari shies away from the Death Tamer, however, fear overwhelming the girl. Mithra then makes her way back to the people's camp. She encounters Grip on the way and the pair continue on. There they encounter Fist Ashtiani, the leader of the Death Tamers military. She gifts Mithra with the fruits of the Fist's blacksmithing skill, an upgraded double headed sword. Mithra then seeks out the Beloved, speaking with them at some length about her extraordinary experience within the keep. This includes the possibility that Loyatar, their goddess, is in the process of selecting a new priestess amongst the citizens of this odd city. While Mithra then looks for healing, Grip seizes his opportunity to see beloved Trisli Weisa keeps vigil over her brother in the healing hall. Devran and his sister begin to come to a kind of understanding while Marcus invokes the gold to repair some of the boys heinous wounds, Marcus son Livius takes Devran back to their family while Marcus and Nuesa settle in for a discussion. The true cleric tells her about what he experienced in the pantry of the Keep. He is convinced that the three gods present were his own.
