AUC 2,775, 5th Day After Ides of Tiwei

Awakening is always a particularly wild spectacle here in Juramentum, but I didn’t expect to witness such unusual activity this year. Of course, there was the merriment: the sloshing cups, the singing, the crying, the fire… the sports made only to embarrass one another, and Kithki diving into bushes. It bewilders and excites me to witness such play and looseness. My mother would faint at a mere whiff of such holy fun.

But what I did not expect to see was a belligerent Merick slurring his words, a blushing boy brave and keen enough to offer me a drink, Catryn having – dare I say – a roaring good time? And now, something so rare I have yet to know how to name it has arrived tonight as well. I can only sense what it may be, with no visual or historical framework to capture it, but it moves me to my core.

The gift offered to the earth by Tezcatli herself on that haunting night of Fugue has emerged as some sort of being… I am both terrified and beyond excited to see what the Dread Mother has provided us. A gift, I truly pray it is. Titus was there as it emerged (I can’t wait to hear that tale), and we must support him as he protects the gift from misunderstanding.

Oh, Dread Mother, you are always up to something, and your quake is felt. I pray I can be of your rightful service… although the fire is burning softer and smaller into the night, I sense awakening has just begun.
