Grip — GGR3-10 Journal
Trisli farewell. 'I have denied you the chance to live again.' Rejects Ateel's bargain. 'I hold no lust for comfort. I am masterless.' Per aspera ad astra.
Character: Agrippa Dawn's Fire Gnaeus
Episode: GGR3-10: Veritas Invicta, Part 2
Bon and starlight, silk and sorrow. I am so sorry, Trisli. I have denied you the chance to live again. Free from the burdens of your sight. I have denied your people the wisdom and guidance that you would provide, even without your title. I have denied Mohinder his mother, and perhaps any chance he had of connecting with his kin. I have denied Terra its brightest light, its best hope to forge a new path. I have denied myself. My joy, my peace, my passion, my future. Would Ateel have kept his bargain? Would you have been a husk, a pale imitation of your radiant beauty? Would you have been able to forgive me for my weakness? You gave your life to thwart his aims. My grandsire denied the return of my grandame to thwart his aims. Whatever Ateel would demand of me would undoubtedly seek to unravel all of the intent, all of the sacrifices that led to this moment. The twisted game he has played with my family for generations is over. This small being, this meager Deity wearing the face of an innocent genius he conned into subservience will not be the arbiter of my fate. I hold no lust for comfort. I am masterless, and it has cost me everything I am and will be. Rest now. My treasure, I'll be with you soon. Per aspera ad astra.
