They have always fought me so hard. These humans. And what has their precious free will wrought? Wars, betrayal, immiseration, and worse. They impugn me as the God of twisted love, when all I offer them, all I've ever offered them, is peace. Peace of heart, of mind, of soul. If they both stepped aside and allowed me to work my designs unimpeded, what a garden this world would be. But no. Figulus. Stubborn, brilliant Figulus. He wove the very fabric of creation into a net to snare my ambitions. And now he is dust and ash and broken promises. His precious Crimson Children scattered like seeds in a hurricane. And still they resist. A new lord rises in the ruins of the oath city. A farmer channels light he cannot comprehend. A boy wears dragon scales he did not earn. And they dare to dream.
