You can never go home Again earlier on the eve, Titus has a vision of the first of the holy warriors on Terra guiding him to reclaim more of his chosen abilities. This hulking man from another era is named Wex, and in the vision he takes Titus on a grueling mountainous run. Pushing past his limits, the young lord finds his ability to slow time down around him now replenishes far faster than before. Aboard the salvaged vessel, Marcus assailant is revealed. Khalid Marcus survives the second assassination attempt upon him, learning that Khalid is actually a part of an enforcement arm of the Church of Light called Gladius Lux. Despite Khalid's best attempts to take his own life, Wace's abilities force some measure of information from him. In the end, the simple adage of each decides his own life prevails, and Wasid swiftly dispatches the turncoat. Making landfall upon Juramentum's nearly deserted docks, the Fellowship immediately sees that all is not well. They soon learn that Lady Livia, Titus twin sister, was recently kidnapped by the ruler of the neighboring city of Xahar. Wonder of wonders, Lady Lucretia Vale was in hot pursuit. Marcus goes to rally Juramentum's people, bolstering its morale. In so doing, he knowingly reveals himself as a chosen cleric of the Goddess of Truth. Nilishli returns to Aurelius Field, the place where she was born. There she encounters an elderly woman named Maria, as well as the Lepidus terrier Landis that she nearly destroyed when she first rose from the earth as a newborn. However, the divine construct is a far deeper being than when she was first awoke. By the end of the interaction, Maria has invited Nilishli to tea and will seek out the descendants of the family that used to tend to the sacred field. Titus sees to his young ward Jerim's safety, then brings them both to Julius's watch the tower upon which the party successfully defended the city after a brutal battle against the Utini. He asks the Goddess of Truth, Taweia, to send him a sign. Just as he finishes this prayer, he catches a glimpse of a returning fleet, a ragtag collection of rafts and fishing craft. Upon the single cutter that leads them is a proud emerald tressed figure staring intently towards Juramentum's wall.
